Talking Porter vs. Garcia With Frank Lotierzo – Unified welterweight champion Keith “One Time” Thurman has voluntarily relinquished his WBC title while he recovers from the effects of elbow surgery last year and a hand injury he suffered in training camp last month.
Thurman’s decision opens the way for former champions Danny “Swift” Garcia (34-1-0, 20 KOs) and “Showtime” Shawn Porter (28-2-1, 17 KOs), the two leading contenders for the WBC title, to fight each other for the championship while Keith makes a full recovery from his injuries. Garcia and Porter have had some issues in the past. After the match between Garcia and Brandon Rios, Porter got into the ring and verbally taunted Danny, prompting him to trade barbs and state “We can take it in the street if you want to” and “This is the Danny Garcia show; get out of here!” before Porter had to be held back and forced out of the ring.
On this segment our boxing analyst Frank Lotierzo talks about a match between Garcia against Porter.
