Is Srisaket Sor Rungvisai The 2017 Fighter of the Year? – The fallout is still coming in from this past Saturday night’s Sor Rungvisai vs Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez rematch on HBO.

Rungvisai did not receive a lot of credit for his March of 2017 upset of Gonzalez that saw him take the WBC world super flyweight title from the previously undefeated champion. This past Saturday night, Sor Rungvisai again entered the match with Gonzalez, who will go down as an all-time great 115-pounder, as the underdog. Less than 15 minutes later, Rungvisai had gotten the job done in a much more convincing fashion.

Gonzalez had held world titles in four weight classes and he was commonly rated the #1 pound for pound fighter in the world prior to his first meeting with Sor Rungvisai. In this latest TBC report we bring in our analyst Frank Lotierzo to ask “Is Sor Rungvisai The 2017 Fighter of the Year?”
