Shields vs Nelson Quick Results From Verona – ShoBox: The New Generation delivered their first event of 2018 on Friday night as Claressa Shields outclassed Tori Nelson to defend her belts. The previously unbeaten Nelson was outpointed by Shields over 10 rounds, with all three judges returning scores of 100-90.

The win gives Shields a perfect 5-0 mark in her pro career. She turned pro in November of 2016, shortly after winning an Olympic gold medal at the Rio De Janeiro games. Her title defense on Showtime was a first for the modern era of women’s boxing and Shields is hoping to lead the way into the mainstream for ladies boxing.

Prospect Shohjahon Ergashev  moved to 11-0 with a third round stoppage victory over Sonny Fredrickson, who fell to 18-1. In bantamweight action, Jesse Angel Hernandez won a narrow split decision win over rival Ernesto Garza III.
