Salido vs Roman Deliver a War

Salido vs Roman Deliver a War – As expected, Orlando Salido and Miguel Roman delivered a war last night at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas and on HBO After Dark. Salido started out strong but Roman withstood the onslaught to dish out a lot of punishment of his own. By the ninth round, Roman had earned the stoppage win over Salido in a fight being called a “Fight of the Year” candidate.

Tevin Farmer and Kenichi Ogawa fought for the vacant IBF world title at 130 pounds. Farmer was riding an 18-fight winning streak while Ogawa was fighting his first bout outside of Japan. The rugged Ogawa earned the majority decision nod from the judges who credited his aggression throughout the fight.

Former world titleholder Francisco “El Bandido” Vargas won a technical decision victory over England’s Stephen Smith. Smith suffered a severe ear injury from an  accidental head butt that caused an end to the fight with Vargas comfortably ahead on the cards.
