Review Claudio Marrero’s Win Over Carlos Zambrano – This past Saturday night, April 29th, at the Sam’s Town Hotel in Las Vegas, featherweight Claudio Marrero went home with an interim WBA world title after he stopped previously undefeated Carlos Zambrano just 90 seconds into their main event fight that aired on Fox Sports 1.

The fight headlined Leonard Ellerbe and Mayweather Promotions fight card and it was expected to be a showcase for Zambrano, who entered the fight 26-0. For Marrero, the second time is the charm as his lone career loss came in a match for this same WBA interim belt back in August of 2013. The full version of the WBA’s world title is currently in the hands of Leo Santa Cruz and the win gives Marrero an inside track at being the next mandatory defense for the all-world Santa Cruz.
