Ray Flores Talks ShoBox Nov 4 – ShoBox was back this past Friday as they presented a seven-fight card topped by Olympic standout Taras Shelestyuk (15-0) of the Ukraine taking on Chicago’s Jamie Herrera (15-4-1). Shelestyuk had a harder fight than expected, but earned the decision.
A pair of vacant regional WBC cruiserweight titles were on the line as Constantin Bejenaru (12-0) faced Stivens Bujaj (16-1-1) in a fight that saw a lot of head butts and sloppy fighting. The bout went to the scorecards and Bejenaru went home with the belts.
South Africa’s undefeated 140 pounder Xolisani Ndongeni won a UD over a game Juan Garcia Mendez to move to 22-0 overall. Mendez falls to 19-1-1.
Brazilian hopeful Vitor Freitas, the nephew of Acelino “Popo” Freitas, suffered the first defeat of his professional career as he fell to Manuel Mendez (13-1-2) by first round KO.
The fights aired Friday night, November 4th on Showtime in the United States.
