Ray Flores Talks Canelo vs JCC Jr – Oscar De La Hoya and his Golden Boy Promotions announced last week that Saul “Canelo” Alvarez would be fighting Julio Cesar Chavez Jr this coming May 6th. The match is at a catch weight of 164.5 pounds and the venue is being finalized, with Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on reserve should conversations between De La Hoya and the powers that be at Cowboy Stadium not come to fruition.
The “Mexico vs Mexico” match-up will air on HBO PPV and will be a big test of the drawing power of both men. It is a historic fight south of the border, where both men have very large followings, but 2016 was not exactly a banner year for either man on the world stage.
