N’Dam N’Jikam vs Murata 2 Is Sunday in Tokyo – WBA world middleweight champion Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam of France (36-2) defends his title in Tokyo this Sunday against Ryota Murata (12-1).
N’Jikam brought the interim WBA belt to a May showdown with Murata for the vacant WBA world title and he walked away with a highly controversial split decision win. Murata is a gold medal Olympian who was favored heading into the first match-up but fell short in front of his home town crowd. Now, N’Jikam returns to Japan to offer Murata a rematch. What awaits the winner could be big money fights in the middleweight division currently ruled by the likes of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin.
The fight is the main event of Akihiro Honda’s eight fight boxing card at Tokyo’s Kokugikan and the card also features two WBC world title fights in the light flyweight and flyweight divisions. Check out more details in this latest TBC report.
Bob Arum of Top Rank is listed as the co-promoter and the fight is set to air on Sunday morning on ESPN2 in the United States. Check local listings for start times.
