Michael Conlan Debut Live Report with Kid Hersh – Saint Patrick’s Day weekend in New York City saw Ireland’s Michael Conlan make his professional boxing debut in front of 5,100 fans at the Madison Square Garden Theater.

Conlan was a two time Olympian who decided to turn professional after being robbed at the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro. He was the most prominent of several Olympians who signed with Top Rank. Two others, Brazil’s Robson Conceicao and Honduran Teofimo Lopez, who represented Honduras, were also on Friday’s card. The de facto headliner was 23-0 welterweight up-and- comer Alex Saucedo although it was clear from the very onset that the star of the evening was Michael Conlan who stopped his opponent Tim Ibarra in the third round.

Check out the results and highlights from the MSG Theater right here in this TBC report.
