Looking Back at the 2017 IBHOF Inductions – Canastota, New York hosted the induction ceremonies for the International Boxing Hall of Fame this past weekend
This year’s induction class is led by former cruiserweight and heavyweight world champion Evander Holyfield (44-10-2) and 3 weight class world champions Marco Antonio Barrera (67-7) of Mexico and Johnny Tapia (59-5-2) of the United States.
The festivities in upstate New York started on June 8th as the weekend is dedicated to this year’s hall of fame class. A golf outing, gala dinner, the ceremonies themselves and of course the famous Graziano’s Bar and Grill and “Parade of Champions” all make Canastota the center of the boxing world once a year. As well as the inductees the guests and former boxers that turn up for the weekend creates a fantastic, fan friendly atmosphere with a lot of accessibility to the fighters themselves.
