I am a huge fan of Santa Cruz. His style of non-stop activity is so fun to watch.

But I am dieing to see him in a major step up fight and there are so many potential juicy matchups out there for him.

Obviously, the Rigondeaux fight is a dream match of styles. That is the fight I was hoping and praying we would see on this undercard. Hopefully some day soon.

Also, there is Frampton, Quigg, Kiko Martinez, Abner Mares and many other potential fights out there. I know some of them are tied up up now with their own scheduled fights but all good potential matchups down the line.

But Manual Roman who was recently fighting 6 and 8 round fights with zero notable wins. And was beat fairly decisively a few years ago by Randy Caballero just a couple years ago. There were much better “safe” options out there. Heck, I'd have rather seen someone like Rocky Juarez get the fight.
