Kovalev vs Shabranskyy Weigh-ins From Broadway – Friday afternoon in New York City saw light heavyweights Sergey Kovalev and Vyacheslav Shabranskyy hit the scales and come face to face for the final time before tomorrow night’s HBO fight.
The pair meet for the vacant WBO world title at 175 pounds at the Madison Square Garden Theater. The winner will grab the last of three vacant world titles left behind by the retirement of Andre Ward. Kovalev was considered the top gun in the weight class until he fell twice to Ward. Now with Ward no longer competing, Kovalev has designs on grabbing all the belts again.
