There are times when opportunity calls, and that was the case a week ago when England's George Jupp (13-2) and trainer Del Grainger received a call with an offer to fight in Mexico.

Jupp, coming off a win for the WBO's Inter-Continental belt at Super Featherweight was being offered an “interim” world title shot against 28-1 Miguel Berchelt in far-off Merida. After saying “yes”, the pair find themselves in Mexico less than a week later.

Grainger pointed out that the last time a British fighter won a piece of a world title on the road in Mexico fighting against a Mexican-based fighter takes us back to December 6th of 1975 when John H Stracey defeated the legendary Jose Napoles for the WBC's World Welterweight title in Mexico City.

Nothing like a little history for added motivation.

Marcellino Castillo, our correspondent with our Spanish language site Canal de Boxeo caught up for some quick words from a pair of confident Brity, Super Featherweight George Jupp and trainer Del Grainger.

Let's hear what they had to say in this exclusive Boxing Channel report.
