Jessie Vargas (27-1) won the WBO world welterweight title this past March, when he defeated Sadam Ali (then 22-0) with a 9th round TKO as the co-feature bout of HBO’s Luis Ortiz vs Tony Thompson. The lone loss of his career came back in June of 2015 when he lost a close UD to Pacquiao nemesis Timothy Bradley in what was widely seen as a strong performance in defeat for Vargas. Vargas has craved a superfight for some time, and this Pacquiao bout represents that. This is about winning, not just looking good for Vargas.
