Jessier Magdaleno is a very talented prospect. He is young (only 22) and Top Rank has been moving him very carefully.

In baseball, he would be considered a five tool prospect. In boxing terms, he has shown all the skills of a future star. He has blazing hand speed and excellent power. He is quick and athletic. And he keeps getting better.

I think Magdaleno is one of the top young fighters in the sport. There is still a lot that needs to be found out about him as with similar five tool baseball prospects. But the tools are there.

He should have no issues with this opponent (Carlos Rodrgiuez). This guy is tough but very limited. He will come forward and allow Magdaleno to showcase all his tools. After this fight, I think its time for Magdaleno to step it up some in competition. He is ready for a step up and there should be no need to fight the likes of Carlos Rodriguez any longer.

Will he be Alex Excobar (us Cleveland Indians fans remember this five tool prospect that didn't pan out at all), Mike Trout or somewhere in between. We will one day find out.
