Jermall Charlo Talks To TBC Post-Fight – This past Saturday night, July 29th, former super welterweight world champion Jermall Charlo made a successful debut in the middleweight division with a fourth round stoppage of Argentina’s Jorge Sebastian Heiland. Though Heiland appeared to be hampered by an injured knee, Charlo appeared satisfied with notching the victory, saying post-fight that he felt he “got the job done.” The win moves the 27 year old Charlo to a perfect 26-0 as a professional.
Charlo moved to middleweight looking for greater competition and big money fights. The win over Heiland makes Charlo the mandatory challenger for the WBC’s world champion, Gennady Golovkin.
Charlo is very aware of the Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs Golovkin middleweight showdown scheduled for this coming September and his name is already being talked about as a potential next opponent for the winner of that match.
