Japan, Philippines Host Super Flyweight Title Fights This Weekend

This week, the super flyweight category stands front and center as two events in Asia this weekend feature world title fights.

In the Philippines on Saturday, September 3rd, undefeated McJoe Arroyo (17-0) defends his IBF crown on the road against Jerwin Ancajas (24-1-1).

Sunday, September 4th sees Japan hosting a card headlined by the Inoue brothers.

Undefeated 10-0 phenom Naoya Inoue defends his WBO world title against Thai veteran Karoon Jarupianlerd (38-7-1).

Also fighting on that event are 7-0 Takuma Inoue and 4-0 Koki Inoue as the popular trio are one of the hottest stories in Japanese boxing.

These fights come on the heels of the August 31st showdown in Tokyo for the WBA title between champion Kohei Kono (32-8-1) and Luis Concepcion (34-4).
