Promoter Bobby Hitz was at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana with a grass-roots level event this past Saturday May 14th.
The main event saw the Chicago area’s Mike Jimenez (19-1) take on veteran war horse Aaron Pryor Jr (19-9-1) for the vacant WBC Continental Americas title at 168 lbs. The fight ended in a majority draw meaning the belt stays vacant.
In this exclusive Boxing Channel segment, our analyst Ray Flores sits down and talks with Jimenez in the immediate aftermath of the bout. Jimenez still sports a fine 19-1-1 overall record and is one of the fighters to watch out of the Chicago area.
Here at the Boxing Channel, we call our analyst Ray Flores “The Road Warrior” for a reason. Take the weekend of May 7th when he was at the Saul Alvarez vs Amir Khan fight in Las Vegas on Saturday, he flew to Florida for the Premier Boxing Champions on Sunday and then back to Los Angeles for an MMA event on Monday.
The weekend of the 14th was a weekend of rest at his home in the Chicago area so of course Flores attended the fights in nearby Indiana. Kudos Ray.
Ray’s work can also be seen with the Premier Boxing Champions and on ESPN and ESPN Chicago.
