Hayemaker Ringstar Promotions Breaks Ground – This past week a press conference announced the creation of Hayemaker Ringstar, a new boxing promotional company spearheaded by British heavyweight David Haye and Richard Schaefer of Ringstar Sports.
Schaefer, the former CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, has been a heavyweight player in boxing for a long time, and December of 2016 saw him return to the promoting game with the successful Showtime doubleheader of Abner Mares vs Jesus Cuellar and Jermall Charlo vs Julian Williams at the USC Galen Center.
Haye is set to face rival Tony Bellew on March 4th at London’s O2 Arena in a match that was signed before the partnership with Schaefer came into fruition. Haye is looking for a signature performance against Bellew, who is a cruiserweight world champion and a fighter that has turned the contest into a personal grudge match. A win for Haye would allow him to present his next fight under the Hayemaker Ringstar Promotion banner, and you can expect Haye to push for a showdown with IBF world heavyweight champion and fellow countryman Anthony Joshua.
