For a guy who went from working in training camp with Danny Jacobs to his own training camp in preparation to face Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam, Stevens looked as if he had not done anything more than spar, jump some rope, hit the bags and do some basic calisthenics. It looked as if he had 20-pound weights attached to his feet.

Speaking of his feet, what is with that nervous habit of tapping the toes of his right foot into the mat every time he sets up. He does it right before he punches. He does it EVERY time he starts to set up.

Curtis Stevens does indeed have a big left hook. But fighters like N'Jikam know how to avoid that blow. Unless he makes some vast improvement in his entire makeup, Stevens will be forever consigned to anonymity and mediocrity.

His loss to Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam showed that completely.

Stevens has not changed one bit as a fighter since he began. He goes in looking strictly for the KO and to land that one big punch. And against lesser foes he can do so and look great. But anytime he remotely steps up, he has major issues. Stevens never learned how to properly set up his power shots or for that matter learn how to properly work behind a jab. A gut with his talent and power can get away with that fighting Saul Roman, Patrick Majewski, etc. But that won't work against higher level opponents. That didn't work against Jessie Brinkley or Golovkin or N'Dam. As a matter of fact, Stevens was never really in any of those fights. And if he hasn't learned now well he's never going to.

Curt-Steve had a cruel case of the Eye of the Deer in oncoming headlights. Holla!
