I am glad to see Tapia remain on this card and remain busy following a layoff after that brutal fight with Kirkland. I am not sure what kind of threat Larbi will pose but he's not a bad opponent on short notice either. He should be able to give Tapia some rounds but is not a hard hitter and has come up short whenever he has stepped up so is someone Tapia should be able to handle with ease.

The Junior Middleweight division is getting to be pretty deep with a lot of contenders looking to make names for themselves. Tapia is right in that mix and will make for some interesting fights. Possible opponents in the next year could be fighters like Andy Lee, Willie Nelson, Vanes Martirosyan or Javier Maciel. These are all very make able and intriguing fights that I could see HBO being very interested in showing as an undercard bout on a Top Rank show.

I agree . Its nice to see him get a fight at least. Sometimes an unknown opponent is tricky in the beginning of the fight. I hope to see Boyd M. get back in the ring again.

I was really looking forward to the Boyd/Tapia bout. Maybe it is a blessing in disguise to face someone a lil “softer”, he has came off a vicious TKO that was a cold KO at the end of the combo at the hands of James Kirkland. I hope Boyd and Tapia fight next after this bout in the future. Tapia is young and has plenty of time for more wars but he has lots of pride and might want to cross paths with lions sooner rather than later.
