Freddie Roach Talks Cotto vs Kirkland

Freddie Roach Talks Cotto vs Kirkland – HBO Pay-Per-View Boxing was in New York and Los Angeles this past week hosting a media tour for the February 25th Miguel Cotto versus James Kirkland match.

It will be the first time in the ring in over a year for both men, as neither logged a fight in calendar year 2016. Additionally, both Cotto and Kirkland lost to Saul “Canelo” Alvarez the last time we saw them so the pair will be looking to avoid a second loss in a row.

The match is being viewed as a test of Miguel Cotto’s drawing power. PPV star “Canelo” Alvarez chose to go the regular HBO route when he faced Kirkland, who is not a crossover name by any stretch of the imagination. Cotto versus Alvarez drew more than 900,000 PPV buys back in November of 2015, but Cotto is not expected to draw anywhere near that number for this match-up with Kirkland.
