I expect a war.

Radam G says:

I don't expect for it to go far. Mi-Co is gonna squash him like a bug. Run him over like a car. Bust up his body and mess up his mug. Beat him like a drum. Reveal him as a bum. Take his belt. OH, Jesus Wept! Holla!

But Cutto will weep louder, his tears a light red as the water mixes with the blood running down his face as if he wore a crown of thorns.

Skibbz says:

Freddie was never going to answer the Canelo question straight.. Would be nice to know what Freddie makes of his injuries and physical advantages over Miguel.

I think it's going to be Sergio by stoppage. Miguel will be knocking for his last payday at the door of Canelo, lose then make his way to the smaller stage.

You nailed it, Skibbz. Wise man, you are.

I think that was the thinking. Lose to Martinez, Canelo is still there. Lose to Canelo and the Martinez fight is gone. Beat Martinez and Mayweather and Canelo are both there, in that order, win or lose.

Worst case scenario, Canelo loses to Lara and Cotto loses to Martinez, they can still meet in a fall blockbuster that will sell a 900K plus.

As for the matchup, I see nothing Cotto can do to Martinez. Nothing at all. Martinez is a sharpshooter with deceptive power and good athleticism.

If southpaw Pacquiao did what he did, super power or not, Martinez will do the same.

He can wear three knee braces in the ring looking like Stone Cold Steve Austin, it won't make a difference.

And I'm rooting for Cotto. I just don't see it.

Mid-to-late round stoppage for the Argentinian. And he WILL wear his little plastic Burger King crown and look stupid doing it. LOL

Radam G says:

Mi-Co is gonna whup arse and take names. Holla!

amayseng says:

Time will tell, looking forward to this scrap,

I will be skipping Floyds sparring session of making Chino miss 4 shots, miss another 3 and then landing one and bicycling about boringly and buying this PPV instead.

Not only am I pulling for SM, I seriously think he is gonna whoop Cotto..

Radam G says:

Mi-Co is going to knock the bad-knee socker dude OUT! I have no doubt. Se-Ma is gonna hurt the knee again, and like a bytch, he's going to shout. Holla!

The only thing he will shout is “All hail El Rey, Maravilla Martinez” and flash that silly crown of his.

The Shadow says:

RG, you are one funny cat.

I say this with love — you know this, MAN! — but have you ever picked a Wild Card winner to ever not win by “Kayo?” Never mind not winning but to NOT win by gory stoppage? Hahaha.

Man, Cutto will CUT and bleed. Maravilla's speed will be too much, indeed.

I'm telling you, and christian crusader Hop won't like this one bit, but by the fifth round, he will look like Yeshua walking to Golgata. Sad, dejected and bleeding from the forehead, awaiting his imminent demise.

This is not the greatest story ever (fore)told. This is an accurate forecast from The Shadow, the man with the see-into-the-future PEDs and 'roids!

What is he going to stop Maravilla with, his powder puff right hand? This is not Delvin Rodriguez, a fringe gatekeeper at best.

This is Maravilla, baby!

That said, I hope Cotto wins. Wild open up the landscape and I'm a sucker for history and records (as long as they're real hehehehe).

Mi-Co is gonna knock that mudsucka out with a hook. Like a fallen socker player, Ser-Ma is gonna look. His hinny, the now Wildcard fighter is going to cook. Holla!

Sorta like this? [url]http://www.pbh2.com/humor/soccer-dive-gifs/

The Commish says:

While I feel that Sergio Martinez will successully retain his title against Miguel Cotto, the long layoff and the injuries concern me. With those aside, I cannot see Martinez losing to Cotto. It was a year ago December that Cotto was thoroughly outboxed by another southpaw, light-hitting slickster Austin Trout. If Trout could outpoint Cotto, certainly the bigger, harder-hitting Martinez will do the same–only easier.

It's going to be a long night for Cotto fans.

Agreed.

The Commish says:

I want to change something I wrote. I said “It's going to be a long night for Cotto fans.” It won't.

“It's going to be a VERY long night for Cotto fans!”

Randy, it will feel even longer once Martinez starts posing with that plastic crown.
