Frank Lotierzo Talks Joseph Parker vs Andy Ruiz Jr – The vacant WBO world heavyweight title will be contested this Saturday, December 10th at the Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand as Joseph Parker (21-0) takes on Andy Ruiz Jr (29-0).

The WBO belt was recently vacated by Tyson Fury, who had earned the belt with his November of 2015 defeat of long-time divisional kingpin Wladimir Klitschko. Parker was considered the WBO’s #1 contender as he had held WBO African and Oceania regional titles earlier in his career. The WBO ranked Klitschko as the #2 fighter in the heavyweight division, but Klitschko is on the sidelines until next year, and Ruiz Jr was ranked number three by the WBO on the strength of a 3-0 record thus far in 2016.

The winner will put his name firmly in the top ranks of the heavyweights as the division heads into what should be a busy 2017.
