Frank Lotierzo Looks At The Career of Marco Antonio Barrera – Mexico’s Marco Antonio Barrera was inducted into the Canastota, New York International Boxing Hall of Fame this past weekend as part of the class of 2017.
Barrera enters the Hall of Fame with a terrific 67-7 overall career mark that is highlighted by world titles in three different weight classes. Barrera boxed his first professional bout in November of 1989 at the age of 15 and logged his last contest in February of 2011, giving him a career that spans over two decades. a roll call of his opponents reads like a who’s who of the era and includes the likes of Erik Morales, Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan, Junior Jones, Jesse Benavides, Kennedy McKinney and Naseem Hamed just to name a few.
