Frank Lotierzo Breaks Down Lebedev vs Gassiev – IBF world cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev (29-2) faces the challenge of Murat Gassiev (23-0) this Saturday in Moscow.

The match is seen as a potential passing of the torch, as it is rare to see a match where 14 years separate the ages of the two men. Lebedev, the defending champion, is 37 years old and has been in the world title picture at 199 pounds for roughly five years now, In Gassiev, he will be facing a 23-year-old who has maintained a perfect record as a professional. Trained by Abel Sanchez, Gassiev is a hard hitter who has scored 17 stoppages in his career and he will have distinct advantages in height and weight over Lebedev. Gassiev represents Lebedev’s toughest test since his May of 2013 loss to Guillermo Jones of Panama.
