Frank Lotierzo Breaks Down Joshua vs Takam – The news started to break over the weekend as word spread that heavyweight challenger Kubrat Pulev was hurt and that he would not be able to fight WBA and IBF world champion Anthony Joshua on October 28th as originally scheduled.
Shrewd promoter Eddie Hearn worked the phones and came up with contender Carlos Takam (35-3-1) on short notice as a replacement. Takam has gone 2-0 in 2017 after a May of 2016 loss to Joseph Parker and he also has a high profile loss to Alexander Povetkin back in 2014. Hearn has reserved Cardiff’s massive Principality Stadium for Joshua’s second fight of 2017 and a postponement would have been disastrous. No word on how long Pulev will be sidelined or whether his world title shot will be rescheduled.
In this latest TBC report our analyst Frank Lotierzo looks at the new world title match-up of Joshua vs Takam that Hearn is setting up to deliver on October 28th.
