Frank Lotierzo Breaks Down Broner vs Garcia – The Premier Boxing Champions and Showtime Boxing recently announced that July 19th will see Brooklyn’s Barclays Center host a juicy super lightweight clash as Mikey Garcia faces Adrien Broner. Though there are no belts on the line for this one, both men are decorated world champions who have held belts in multiple weight classes and a ton of divisional bagging rights will be on the line.
Garcia is an undefeated 29 year old who is moving up from the lightweight class to compete at 140 pounds for the first time. As for Broner, he has had trouble making 140 pounds in the past but the eclectic 26 year old has vowed to put those types of problems behind him for what is potentially the biggest fight of both men’s careers.
How big is the fight? IBF world 154 pound champion Jarrett Hurd will be defending his title against long-time contender and former world champion Austin trout in he event’s co-feature.
