Eddie Hearn at Kovalev vs Ward – He is perhaps the busiest man in the sport of boxing today, but British promoter Eddie Hearn was seen in Las Vegas where he is going to take in the spectacular HBO pay-per-view between Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward at the T-Mobile Arena.
Hearn starts off the brief TBC SoundByte with his thoughts on the Kovalev vs Ward battle for the WBA, WBO and IBF light heavyweight world titles.
So far in 2016, Hearn has probably run away with “Promoter of the Year” awards across the globe as he has taken his Matchroom Boxing beyond the shores of the U.K. this year for the first time and he has been involved promoting many of the biggest fights of this calendar year.
He talks about making Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko for April if Joshua beats Eric Molina in December. March of next year sees Hearn already planning a rematch between Jorge Linares and Anthony Crolla for the WBA world title at 135 pounds. The depth of his roster will certainly keep him busy over the holidays.
When asked about his plans for the USA, Hearn smiled and said “Soon, soon. We’ll be here, we will be here to take over.”
I bet the Brits have seen that smile before. Check out the rest of what the man had to say.
