For Veteran Italian Super Middleweight Giovanni De Carolis (23-6), the second time proved to be the charm against Germany's Vincent Ferigenbutz.

De Carolis stayed focused throughout the fight and stopped Feigenbutz in the eleventh round.  The two had first met back in October of 2015 for Feigenbutz' “interim” WBA World title.

De Carolis lost a narrow decision (115-113,114-113, 115-113) that many observers creditted him with winning, and he immediately began lobbying for a re-match.

This time, the WBA had elevated the match to “full” world championship status, dropping the “interim” label.  With that much more on the line, De Carolis fought an impressive, steady fight.

In the end, he did not even leave it to the judges, and De Carolis is taking the full WBA Super Middleweight title home with him you Rome.
