Danny Jacobs successfully defended his WBA World middleweight title as he got a second round technical knockout against former light middleweight champion, Sergio Mora.

In the first round Jacobs knocked down Mora with a big right hand, but just a few seconds later Mora dropped Jacobs with a counter left.

The fight promised excitement, fans were expectant and the action was very even in the second round until Mora went down hurting his right leg and ankle on the way down, he got up but was limping and looked in pain, referee Gary Rosato stopped the fight giving Danny Jacobs the victory.

After the fight you could hear Mora saying he heard his knee “pop” and believed his ankle was broken, he wanted a rematch, but Jacobs dismissed this request and called out Peter Quillin

We wish Sergio Mora a speedy recovery.
