Curtis Stevens Talks Prefight – The WBA Continental Americas title at 160 pounds will be on the line this Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena as veteran fighters Curtis Stevens (28-5) and James De La Rosa (23-4) meet. The fight is on the undercard of Saturday’s highly anticipated HBO pay-per-view showdown between Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward.
Stevens won the vacant WBC regional belt in his last outing when he knocked out previously unbeaten Patrick Teixeira (26-0) in the second round of the May 7th, 2016 Saul “Canelo” Alvarez versus Amir Khan undercard.
De La Rosa is looking to bounce back from a loss in his last outing, as he fought Jason Quigley in May on the same “Canelo” versus Khan undercard where Stevens won his title.
Both men are familiar with each other and both men have performed on the big stage before, so one of the most competitive fights of the evening is expected.
