Cotto vs Ali Breakdown with Frank Lotierzo – Puerto Rico’s Miguel Cotto is playing the Garden for the last time this Saturday as he faces Sadam Ali on HBO. Win or lose, Cotto has decided to call it quits on a seventen year career that almost certainly leads to the hall of fame.
But first, Cotto must face the 25-1 Ali, who at 29 years old is eight years younger than Cotto. Unfortunately for Ali, his perceived advantages may end there, ass the 25-1 Brooklyn native does not really have anyone like Miguel Cotto on his resume. In his lone career loss, Ali as stopped Jessie Vargas foraWBOworld title at 147 pounds and he has rarely fought up t 154 pounds. With Cotto defending his WBO world super welterweight title in this one, Ali could wind up with a world title at 154 pounds.
In this latest TBC report we call on our veteran analyst Frank Lotierzo to take a look at Miguel Cotto’s swan song. Lotierzo not only looks at what we may get in the ring this Saturday night from both Cotto and Ali, but Lotierzo also looks back at Cotto’s hall of fame credentials. Check it out.
