Concepcion Corrales Workout – A pair of world champions are preparing for title defenses in December, and we have the livestream of their Wednesday, November 16th training sessions.
Luis “El Nica” Concepcion (35-4) travels to England on December 10th to defend his WBA super flyweight belt against the challenge of undefeated Khalid Yafai (20-0). Concepcion carried an interim version of the title through two fights in 2015 before winning the full version of the WBA’s world title on the road in Tokyo, Japan against the experienced Kohie Kono.
Jezreel Corrales took the WBA’s “Super World” title at 130 pounds from long-time champion Takashi Uchiyama of Japan, and on December 31st he returns to Tokyo to give Uchiyama a rematch. Corrales entered his April of 2016 match with the then undefeated Uchiyama as a major underdog, but 5:59 seconds into the fight it was over. He floored Uchiyama three times in the second round en route to an improbable world championship win.
