Chris Eubank Jr Steps Onto Centerstage Feb 4 – The Olympia in London, England is hosting Poxon Sports for a big boxing card that is headlined by Chris Eubank Jr’s bid to take the 168 pound super middleweight belt from titleholder Renold Quinlan of Australia.
Eubank Jr is 23-1 and he is moving up in weight class from middleweight to super middleweight for this fight with the unheralded Quinlan. Quinlan won the vacant IBO world title in October of 2016 when he stopped Australian veteran Daniel Geale in the second round of their scheduled twelve round bout. Quinlan is 11-1 overall in his pro career and he is entering Saturday’s fight a major underdog against Eubank Jr, who is a second generation fighter with aspirations of impacting boxing at a world wide level. As for Eubank Jr, he will still have a lot to prove even with a win this Saturday, as the IBO is really one of dozens of relatively insignificant world titles out there.
