Brandon Rios says he was too comfortable, he had to regroup and is ready to get back on top

Former world lightweight champion Brandon Rios (31-2-1, 22 KOs) is deep in training for his first fight this year, — a 10-round welterweight battle against power-punching Top-10 contender and one-time interim world champion Diego “La Joya” Chaves  (23-1, 19 KOs).

Rios vs. Chaves will headline HBO Boxing After Dark®, televised live on Saturday, August 2, from The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, beginning at 9:45 p.m. ET/PT.  

The telecast will also feature undefeated WBA super lightweight champion “The Pride of Las Vegas” JESSIE VARGAS (24-0, 9 KOs), of Las Vegas, NV, in his first title defense, against undefeated contender ANTON “The Pick Hammer” NOVIKOV (29-0, 10 KOs), of Kopeysk, Russia.
