Badou Jack Officially Returns WBC 168 Title – During the in-ring interviews of Badou Jack and Floyd Mayweather this past January 14th at the Barclays Center, both men talked about an inevitable move to 175 pounds. The aftermath of Jack’s title unification bout draw with rival James DeGale saw a wide call for a rematch between the two men, as both delivered a strong, hard fought battle that aired on Showtime Boxing.

But the move to 175 was formalized earlier this week when Badou Jack vacated his WBC 168-pound belt to move to the light heavyweight division. The WBC took the added step of declaring that a match between former titleholder Anthony Dirrell and top contender Callum Smith of England could be made for the vacated belt.

The 175 pound weight class has a lot of talent, and as a former WBC world titleholder at 168 pounds, Jack is in the mix to take on WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson in his first bout in the new weight class.
