De la Rosa was once a hot prospect. He just may still be a live dog that could end “El Perro['s]” boxing career. Holla!

This fight will tell us a lot more about where Alfredo Angulo is in his career. As Radam stated, De la Rosa was once a very hot prospect until he lost to Allen Conyers on the Bradley-Alexander undercard several years ago. De la Rosa is 2-1 since that fight.

An Alfredo Angulo of a couple years ago would absolutely destroy this fighter. However, to me Angulo looked like a totally shot fighter against Canelo in March. He had nothing on his punches and was just a sitting duck for Canelo's combinations all night long. He saw the punches coming but couldn't react quick enough to get out of the way.

We all know Angulo has been in his share of wars over the years. He has also had battles outside the ring that had to have taken some toll on him. The question here is did he drain himself in the Canelo fight and that's why he looked so bad. Or is he in fact shot. We should find out the answer in this fight.

Radam G says:

He definitely, dumbly drained himself in the Canelo Bout, but he's also slightly shot. Too many times already outta him, fighters have knocked the snot. Holla!

Very rhythmically put sir. That fight with Kirkland took something out of him and I think it was more than just the physicality. Kirkland stole some of his heart in that fight. He thought for sure he had enough to put away James and 5 rounds later he got stopped. He has looked like a zombie for the most part since that fight.

I have never quite got the attraction to Angulo either. I guess it is because he will be in front of whomever he is fighting. After I saw a mediocre Cintron school him, I knew he would never be much more than about a B- fighter.

Skibbz says:

B- could be generous Doc! I do like watching El Perro fight, but only when he puts up a fight. When he's on the wrong side of a clobbering and there's no fight back it's not nice. Remember the controversy of the Canelo stoppage? Haven't seen any De La Rosa fights, could he really finish El Perro once and for all??

AA looked like a dead man walking against Canelo.

Either he threw the fight or is absolutely shot.

The guy threw nothing but arm punches with nothing on them, nothing.
